Ingredients

  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 5 cups flour
  • 3 cups hot tap water
  • 1 ½ tablespoons yeast

Method

Combine sugar, oil and water in a bowl Add yeast and leave until dissolved. Add 2 cups flour and the salt. Mix. Add more flour, enough to make the dough soft but not sticky. Spray 12" Dutch Oven with cooking spray and put the dough in it. Let the dough rise until it is about 1/2" from the top of the Dutch Oven. Cover and bake in coals for 40-45 minutes or until golden brown.
